I always loved this publication. It had a Southwest tone to it. It was nicely produced. I was happy when a friend of mine who worked there asked me if I’d respond to a question in their “Eco-Experts” section where readers pose questions and invited “experts” respond. It was a relatively easy question that I was asked: “How to best remove cabinets for reuse?” I was just happy to be invited, and best of all: I got paid. The check was made out to the company I worked for, but they gave me the money so it was my first paid writing gig. I was hooked.
